My Honeymoon with Allie
Yay!!!! So after 6 months of living in Germany I'd gotten married, but I hadn't yet done any site seeing. So Allie came from Chicago and we were all over the place, and it was cold and it snowed (now it's supposed to be 50 the rest of the week now that she's gone...sad), but we had a great time. Come visit me!
hmmm...
I even attended a Lutheran Easter service in my town. Allie's a PK.
Our food's on fire!
Hot pretzel
Weeeee!
And she got a hand-knitted hat. So the offer stands...If you visit me, you are guaranteed to get blistered feet and something knitted. How can you resist?
....more pictures to come...

Whoa...marriage and stuff
So the plan was, go in the courthouse sign some forms and get married, then go eat, drink and be merry...
What actually happened....Bad ass bride and groom to be.Mmmmm whiskey
Sign on the door.
Mick and Aunt Nezi one of our surrogate mothers
Diana married us. She wrote a really great speech and told the story about how we met in fairy tale form. I almost cried.
Our friends who came.
The maid and man of honor. Annemarie is our German surrogate mother, Christoph is her son and Mick's best friend of 28 years.
Aunt Nezi and Mick's sister Berrin
Sneaky people even decorated! I lived in Eva and Michael's apartment above their house and Jutta (in red) is another surrogate mom and was my mentor at the school when I taught there.
Katharina (Annamarie's daughter)....lied to us on Monday and said she couldn't make it. And Dani another good friend.
Ow...Mick's in pain...And Dirk came too!
Basically everyone made it a very special day for us and we were completely surprised...then we ate, drank and were merry (and married).
